Spring Recitals - May 8 & May 15

Join us to celebrate our students performing in one or both of our Spring Recitals!

Recitals are free and open to the public. A variety of music will be performed. Invite friends and family and support these hard-working students.

  • Friday, May 8  at  7pm
  • Friday May 15  at  7 pm

Student recitals take place in the Performance Hall unless otherwise noted. The only access to this space is up the front grand staircase, so please plan accordingly. Free parking is available on the street out front, or in the rear lot on Hwy 80. Use the sidewalk to enter through the front stairs.

Special Thanks to all our student's families and to our Sponsors for supporting these students in their musical education. These recitals are a celebration of all the students have worked so hard to accomplish. Mark your calendars for our annual recitals:

  • Spring Recital - 3rd Friday in May
  • Winter Christmas Recital - 1st Friday in December

Additional performance opportunities for students are announced throughout the year.

JAVA NIGHTS HOUSE CONCERT - May 30

Java Nights with 2AM REVIVAL & The Kirbys

Java Nights is The Kirbys' House Concert Series. These events are intimate events that usually take place in the basement Music Lab centered around the piano. We brew a pot of good coffee and invite friends to enjoy the music. We invite the best artists around to join us for these special house concerts.

  • May 30 - 2 A.M. Revival is what you get when two musical soulmates find each other digging around in the sandboxes of the rich local music scene of East Texas. Marcia Keys and Andrew Shafer came together through mutual admiration and love of songwriting and performing. But it was the ease of which they play together and their natural harmonies that solidified this duo. Their musical influences range from one end of the spectrum to the other with rock, pop, and folk from the 60s to mid 2000s. With their own original catalog ever growing, they are looking to offer a unique experience for their listeners. They are currently working hard on their first EP.

A donation is collected for the artists (We suggest $20, but anything is welcome and appreciated). Space is extremely limited, so you must RSVP so we can make sure you have a seat. Email  thekirbysmusic1@gmail.com  or text Kate 903-617-8875 to RSVP.

  • June 13 - Tipps & Obermiller - Hilary Tipps and Steve Obermiller, a dynamic musical duo, have captivated audiences with their heartfelt songwriting and emotive performances. Their latest release, "MacGuffin" (2024), showcases a collection of songs co-written by the pair, following the success of their debut album, "Love (and Other Mysteries)" (2023). Tight vocal and guitar harmonies, folksy wisdom and unabashed emotional vocabulary combine with craft and charisma to create this unexpectedly magnetic experience.
